Neb., April 4 An attempt at-tempt by the I'nion Pacifie Railway company to enforce ita claim to "WO feet right of way along ita main Una, recently sustained by the 1'nitad States supreme court, met with forcible re sistance here today when a party of farmers tore down a fenca put up by a construction gang of the railroad com pany for a diatanee of "00 feet through the farm of W. W. McDonald. The farmera along the road held a hastily announced meeting and de elared their intention of forcibly re tieting any further fencing. When the construction men began rebuilding the fence they were atopped by aa injunction injunc-tion aworn out in a local court, and the railroad officials abandoned any further fur-ther attempts. |
