Show CHARGE OF ROBBERY : AGAINST COUPLE V: DISMISSED Character of Parties in Case Pleaded as Cause for , Dropping Matter Robbery charges agalr.st Put 'and John McCue, who were alleged to have taken 190 from Mrs. Laura Williams, were dismissed by Judge J. M. Wight today. The dismissal folljwed the recommendation of District Attorney E. A. Rogers,' who declared that all of the principals In the case were police characters and that he could not con-' con-' .sclentlously as any Jury to convict a man of a felony upon the testimony of Mrs. Wllllums. The McCues were bound over to the district court by City Judge lien Johnson John-son a week ago. s According to the testimony at their preliminary hearing in the Justice I court, the two men and Mrs. Williams had been drinking denatured alcohol, I the poison Of which wa destroyed by f. a simple process. Mrs. Williams ae-nled ae-nled that she had drunk any of the ' liquor and testified that she had been robbed of S:0. The McCues admitted that she had previously taken It from them while they were suffering from effects of the liquor. "Krom the Information I have received re-ceived from the justice court, I do not lMeve that proceedings should be continued con-tinued in the district court." District Attorney Hogeri, told Judge Wight. "The complaining witness Is a well known police character, who has been convicted of drunkenness and other offenses of-fenses numerous limes.
