Show Lily Pons Wins Large S. L. Audience Singing her first recital In Salt Lake City, "Lily Pons, diminutive coloratura," thrilled a large audience audi-ence of Salt Lake City music lovers lov-ers Monday evening In the L. D. S. tabernacle. Miss Pons' program was replete with renditions well adapted to display the richness of her voice, such as in the Faure "Lea Roses d'Ispahan" or Debussy's sad "II pleura, dans mon coeur." The high point of the performance perform-ance was the operatic aria. "Caro Nome" (from "Rlgoletto"), which 'she projected with such superb effectiveness and dazzling finale as to win the Insistent and resounding resound-ing applause of the audience. "Pretty Mocking-BIrd," the La Forge arrangement, was accomplished accom-plished with, effective vocalism. Horace P. Beesley played the flute obbligato. Miss Pons displayed the surety and poise that proclaim her the finished artist. Her program from beginning to i end completely enthralled en-thralled the audience.
