Show Spur Aims of Hellenic Youth Movement GREEKS OUTLINE GOALS ATP ARLEY 100 Delegates From 3 States Meet An activity program similar to those carried on by the youth of the L. D. S. and Catholic churches Is needed by the Greek young peo- pie, Nicholas J. Veils, president of Beehive chapter No. 71, Sons of Pericles, told approximately 100 members Monday at the opening , session in the Hellenic Orthodox church. "Our youth is lagging behind In Its program of activity." aaid the newly elected president. "What , we need is a program similar to those of the 'Mormons' and Catholics. Cath-olics. The youthful president of the organization, which accepts only boys from 14 to 21 years of age, pleaded for harmony among the Greek young people's organisation and asked for cooperation in fram- Ing an activity program for the youth. Pilgrimage Planned Attending the three-day convention conven-tion are members from Pocatello. Idaho; Salt Lake City. Price, and Green River, Wyo. The members greeted the supreme governor of the order, Peter J. Peterson of Los Angeles. Another speaker at the Monday afternoon meeting waa Nicholas Striks of Salt Lake City, supreme secretary. After giving the wel- come address. Mr. Strike outlined plans being made for a national excursion to Greece next June for Greek youths in the United States. , Mr. Strike aaid plana call for a 60-day tour and that those who go to the old country will be guests of the Greek government and will be received by the king. " Entertainment Feature The program for Monday at 7:30 p. m. will consist of a basketball tournament in the Pioneer L. D. 8. stake gymnasium. There also will be a dance in the church amusement amuse-ment hall. Second West and Third South streets. . Installation of officers will take , place Tuesday night at ceremonies in the Odd Fellows hslL Wednesday Wednes-day night a dinner and danre will be held at the Newhouee hotel.
