Show HUMANE GROUP LAUNCHES DRIVE Mrs. Laura N. Parka, 7M Third vanua, Friday became tha first member to enroll In tha Salt Lake City Humana society's driva to rata funds for an animal ehelter. Miss Lillian M. Taylor, fund driva chairman who to data haa mailed nearly 1300 circular lettera f appeal for aid, aaid Mra. Parka' ' . check for a II membership waa the first received in the driva which began thia week. Mra. John W. Hyalop, humane society so-ciety president, announced that the shelter. If and when built, will care not only for lonesome, sick or Injured In-jured doga and cati. but for old work horses, birds, any other needy animate and humane. "If some old man, on his last legs, comes along and needa a helping hand or a place to sleep" Mrs. Hyslop aaid, "he will be provided shelter In an annex ta the building." Tha society will also look out for children In need of aid. Other plana call for establishment establish-ment of a pet cemetery and a pasture pas-ture for old horses which have outlived their days of usefulness and deserve a little rest. |
