Show S.L. TO ALASKA AIR ROUTE DUE Salt Lake City will soon ba on an air route from southern California to Nome. Alaska. It waa forecast Wednesday by Alvin P. Adams, president pres-ident of tha Western Air Express, who arrived In Salt Lake City from a fishing trip to Wast Yellowstone. The Western Air Express will take over operation of tha National Parka Airways on August 1, Mr. Adams aald, and his Una will then consider extending the route, which is already established to Great Falls, Mont., to i lacier national park. "With lines already, established to Edmonton, Alberta. Canada, and from Edmonton ta Whitehoree, Yukon, Yu-kon, it would ba neceesary to open a route only from Whitehoree to Juneau in order to complete the aystem," Mr. Adams aald. Mr. Adama i explained a plan of equipment pooling which will be presented to tho poatofflca department depart-ment at Washington, D. C, en July 2. Tha system will enable passengers passen-gers to traverse the entire United States without changing airplanes. Airplanes of various air linea will travel other routes, much aa the cars of different railroads are exchanged, ex-changed, with only an exchange of pilots. Sleepers to accommodate the new system will be ready, by, August 1, Mr, Adams said. |
