Show PERSHING DELIVERS THANKSGIVING ADDRESS Day Is Observed by Army Wherever Opportunity Is Presented. y Associated Press. AMERICAN HKADgiTAKTErlS IN FRANCE, Nov. 10. Where possible Thanksgiving day was observed throughout the war gone by the American Ameri-can forces, all unnecessary military duties being suspended. The day found meny troops marching or entrained en-trained for ports, but In cantonments and flged camps services wera held and an effort was made to provide some substitute lor the traditional American dinner. An Impressive service was held at the great general headquarters. The troops were paraded without arms and the officers and men held a meeting which was attended by local dignitaries digni-taries and members of allied military , missions hare I General John J. Pershing made a brief address. Bishop Brent then read Washington's Washing-ton's prsyer. Led by the headquarters band, ths meeting sang the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," "Marseillaise" and "America-After Bishop Brent's benediction a band concert was given.
