Show Reopening Date for Salt Lake Dance Halls Set for Christmas Eve WALTZ Will 7 WELCOME STJCI- After 11 Weeks' Vaca- tion, Lovers of the Dance May Again Step to Strains of Music THE ban on daneehalls, npon which . the lid has been clamped down tight for eleven weeks 'or more, will be lifted Tuesday, Christmas eve. While no formal action in this respect has been taken by the state hoard of health, it can be confidently con-fidently stated that the daneehalls danee-halls will be allowed to open Christmas eve, and private dances once more will be in vogue; With' only twenty-one cases of influenza and one death reported yesterday, there seems to be no danger of any serious flareback of the epidemic, and this fact has caused health authorities to consider con-sider the lifting of the dancehall ban: Dr. T. B. Beatty, state health commissioner, plans to act as Santa-Claus by lifting the ban as a Christmas present to' danee- hall proprietors. "While no -"formal action has been taken," Dr. Beatty said, "I feel justified m saying that the ban on daneehalls will be taken off Christmas eve. The influenza situation in Salt Lake yesterday was good, and results have justified justi-fied the lifting of. the ban ion theatres, picture houses and churches when -the-action - was taken." |
