Show Holiday Turkeys Will Be Plentiful CHICAGO. Despite heavy drains on the nation's poultry supplies during dur-ing the critical meat shortage, Americans will sit down to turkey and cranberries for their Thanksgiving Thanks-giving and Christmas meals as usual usu-al this year. Reports compiled from all turkey areas indicate that more than 41 million turkeys will be marketed, the second largest crop on record and only nine per cent under last year's all-time high. Although a larger percentage of turkeys will be marketed early because be-cause of the meat shortage, there will be plenty of birds left for the holidays, according to Cliff B. Carpenter Car-penter of the poultry institute. |
