Show j Veterans' Leader Praises Warden j A high-ranking Utah veterans' leader officially commended War- 1 den Mason Hill Wednesday for his operation of the Utah stats prison. In a letter to Gov. J. Bracken Lee, William J. Deartng Jr., state service officer for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, protested "against the adverse reports, complaints and accusations against the state j prison management.1 "It Is our desire to uphold Warden War-den HiU." the letter said. "It Is felt that he should be commended rather than rebuked." The service officer wrote that he had been In constant contact with the prison for three years and had never found any convict complaining com-plaining that the rules or punishment punish-ment at the Institution are too severe. |
