Show Third House' o! Utah Legislature ! Finds Relief From Arduous Duties Member of Utah's "third house-were house-were recovering Thursday from their session of the night before. Abandoning the serious duties of lawmaking, the legiilators convened Wednesday night in Memorial house, danced and cavorted like youngsters and gave an attentive ear while Mrs. ' E. E. Ericksen and Representative Ai-vin Ai-vin Keddington sang "Sweet Adeline" without benefit of accompanying j beverages.' Representative Chris Greenhsgen (presided as speaker of the third house and then turned the gavel over ' to Speaker I. A. Smoot of th house of representatives. 1 House bill No. 1, providing that prospective legislators be barred from being "hot and bothered" with any question relative to matrimony within six months of election,-was passed. 1 The penalty is that the offender must irovlde gum and candy for the other egislators. The committee on arrangements consisted of Representatives William U Van Wagoner, Frank G. Eastmsn. W. D. Hammond. J. Frank Klllian and W. K. Granger, while the five women members of the house of representatives, representa-tives, Mrs. A. C. Lund, Mrs. S. Grover Rich. Mrs. Ericksen, Mrs. Minnie V. Harris and Mrs. Revs Beck Basone. made up the committee on receiving and refreshments. |
