Show UTAH PRESBYTERY ' ELECTS OFFICERS gntlNaVTLLE. Aug. 27. The Presbytery Presby-tery of Utah met. at the Presbyterian church here at 7:90 Thursday evening. The opening sermon was delivered by Rev. N. E. Clemenson, from Jas. i., 4, who took the place of Rev. 8. F. Wlshard of Mount Pleasant, the moderator, who was absent by reason of serious illness In his family. : The presbytery elected as its moderator the Rev. John D. Stormount of Nephi, land Rev. N. E. Clemenson, and ruling elders Charles S. Newton. George B. Sweazey. I. N. Smith, J. H. Mynders, Lewis Lewis and G. M. Clemenson. At the close of the presbytery at 8:45 o'clock it was announced that an informal reception would be given at the academy building in honor of Rev. Drs. R G. Ms-Niece Ms-Niece and G. W. Martin and their wives in recognition of the quarter century of service rendered by them to the cause of missions In Utah. The audience adjourned in a body to the academy. Where every arrangement had been made and where an enjoyable programme was carried out. Addresses were delivered by Dr. McNiece and Dr. Martin, Mrs. Palmer of New Tork and Rev. N. E. Clemenson. The presbytery again convened Friday morning at 9 o'clock and entered upon the consideration of the regular docket. The report of workers from the various fields was interesting, and showed that progress is being made all along the line. The Women's Presbyterial society, in conjunction with the presbytery, is in session ses-sion here, holding its. meetings- at the Baptist church. The officers are: j Mrs. G? W. Martin, president; Miss 8. E. DeGraff. vice-president; Miss A. E. Russell, Rus-sell, secretary; Mrs. E. B. Critchlow, treasurer. There was a large attendance and tan interesting programme..
