Holmes, former pastor of the I-Iethoiist church at Heber City, Ualj, Is employed In one of the railroad shops cf this city and thereby hangs a tale. Mr. Holmes is 24 years old. and was born In Pennsylvania, where he knew the Rev. Dr. J. L. Leillch. He graduated gradu-ated from a theological - seminary at Carlisle,. Pa, and was ordained- In 1900. He wa assigned to the pastorate of the Ileber City church In the latter part of 1901. He waa an unmarried man," and lived t the Duncan hotel, where he became acquainted with Miss Ida Ti ? Utah mission, and he had looked upon Holmes as a model. - He was disappoint-ed. disappoint-ed. grieved, hurt. He asked Holmes why he had not come to him for advice, and to have the ceremony performed. Holmes says that Leillch then said things about the faro" ily of Mrs. Holmes that Holmes would not tolerate, and he sat down and wrote his resignation st once.
