Show MYSTERY IN A CUTTING Victim Refuses to Tell Police How He Received His Wounds.- John Randolph, a negro, was found by street car men lying the road at Statev and' Thirteenth South streets early Monday morning, unconscious from loss of blood. The negro was taken ta-ken to the police station, where the City Physician dressed his wounds. He was found to have, a gash five inches long over his eyes and extending back nearly to his right ear, and several other bad cuts on his head and face. -- Randolph regained consciousness after af-ter his wounds were dressed, and when asked how he received the injuries, refused re-fused to say anything. He declined positively to tell how,, when, where or by whom he was Injured. City Physician Wilcox, who dressed the wounds, said that they were knife or rasor cuts, and had been inflicted some time before the man was found. Randolph was found near a road-house road-house where several affrays of a more or less bloody character have occurred within the last two years. He is being held at' the city Jail that his case may be investigated. |
