The Methodist general conference convened at th'.' regular hour this morning with RIshop Dainiel A. Goodsell presiding, and after he conclusion of devotional services resumed consideration of the revision of the rules of order which has largely occupied the attention of the conference for the past two days. The report of Missionary Bishop F. Vi'. Warnet of India, which was postponed post-poned from yesterday's session, was the srpeclal order of the day immediately after the morning recess. The charge of heresy, made by Dr. Munhall and others against the Garrett Biblical institute and the Boston school of theology continue to occupy the attention at-tention of (the members of the committee commit-tee on education and to be the absorbing topic among the conference delegates. After a, lengthy debate In which the report wa characterized by Dr. Munhall Mun-hall and hf followers as an attempt to whitewashl the accused Institutions, the report of the sub-committee was finally referred back with instructions for a more extended report. |
