All rivers riv-ers in southern Indiana are pouring floods Into the Ohio, causing that stream to get above Its banks. White river ls getting Into the coal mines around Petersburg, causing heavy lose and throwing miners out of work. The Wabash river is giving the farmers farm-ers around New Harmony uneasiness.' The crest ef the floods in these two streams are expected : to reach their junction point In Glbron county today or tomorrow and may Join their heavier forces at the same time.' This will send a mighty river tearing through the rich lovfer Wabash valley to the Ohio.- The only danger point north of In- dianapolis Is at Lafayette, -where the water from the Wabash Is undermining a high railroad embankment. Should a serious break occur, a district that is nov protected will be flooded. At Evans Ev-ans ville the river is one foot above the danger line and is rising. The lowlands above and below the city are under water wa-ter and In some places the river Is several sev-eral miles wide. , OAS SUPPLY SHUT OFF BY WATER, AT GRAND RAPIDS; LOSS HEAVY. GRAND RAPIDS. Mich..- March 29. The suffering of the flood victims will now be aggravated by the failure of the gas. supply. During last night all the gas mains leading to the flooded west sida district filled with water and there Is no possibility of their being opened for use before the flood completely recedes. The result will be veVy serious. Gas was used extensively for heating and cooking. The Grand river Continues to recede slowly slow-ly today. LOSS EXTENSIVE ABOUT SAGINAW; DYNAMITE IS . USED TO CLEAR CHANNEL. SAGINAW, Mich.. March 29.-The Saginaw-river continues to rise and the same general flood conditions exist about the city as yesterday. The water Is somewhat some-what higher than yesterday- and consequently conse-quently has inflicted morn - Inns to the merchants and factory owners whose places of business are partially submerged sub-merged and closed. Between. Saginaw and Bay City the Ice In the Saginaw river Is over two feet deep in places and dynamite has had little effect in clearing the channel.
