Show SOME NEWSY NOTES DOWN T1NT1C WAY EUREKA, Utah, May 12. At a special meeting of the City Council held Tuesday night It was decided to purchase enough rolled steel pipe to replace the pipe now In use in the water system. The pipe now In use was Installed about two years ago by the Democratic city administration and In known as "spiral steel." It has proven a failure and during the time that it has been in use bae cost the city at least $3000 to repair leaks and pay for water lost en account of leakage. Council placed an order with the Crane company for the necessary pipe to put the water system In first-class .shape, and the company will have it delivered here inside of thirty days, when the work of laying it will be commenced. The cost of the pipe will be about S1750. and the total cost of the change in the system will amount to not more than J2700. At the last Session of Tlntlc lodge No. 711, B, P. O. E delegates were selected to attend the State convention at Provo In June. The following Elks, together with the officers of the lodge, will constitute the delegation: Ous W. Hebbell. Isaac Barnard, Hugh Heffernan, James Gatley, Frank E. HiRson, George M. Hayes, Edward Ed-ward Pike, Colin McMurphy and 8. J. Schweiter. George Kemp has sold the Monarch saloon sa-loon at this place to R. E. Collet, a saloon sa-loon man of Richfield. Mr. Kemp will leave Eureka about the first of June, and, with his family, will vlalt the St. Louis fair. Mrs. Frank Anderson has returned from Mt. Pleasant, where she was called on account ac-count of the death of a relative. Grant Lee, the nine-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus "Wheelock of Mammoth, died at that place on the 9th from scarlet fever. The remains were sent to Mt. Pleasant for burial. Jackson McChrystal, superintendent of. the Gemini mine, was In Salt Lake on business.
