Show PiONEER WESTERNER IS DEAD IN BERLIN , Mrs. V. E. Vlffus of this .city has received re-ceived word from New York of the death in Berlin of her uncle, Charles M. Steb-bins, Steb-bins, who died June 15. Mr. Stebblns was a widely known, old-timer. old-timer. He built a telegraph line In Missouri, Mis-souri, known as the Missiourl and Western West-ern Telegraph company, connecting with the Western Union at St. Louis. Among his employees was Col. R. C. Clowry, now president of the Western Union. He sold this business to the Western Union and then began a freighting business which often brought him as far West as Salt Lake. He died very wealthy, owning own-ing real estate in Detroit, Mich., alone valued at more than $1,000,000. . |
