Show EIGHTEEN CASES OF ( SMALLPOX REPORTED Sixty-Five Cases All Told How la Detention in Cityj Weekly ; Health Report. . i The report of the Board of Health for the week ending January 31st shows the report of fifteen births, ten of which were males and five females. For the same period there were thirteen deaths reported (ten residents), ' being five males and eight females. Six bodies were shipped away during the week and four were brought here for burial. At the close of last report there were twenty cases of scarlet fever in quarantine; quar-antine; fifteen .new cases were reported during the week, one case died and seven sev-en were discharged as cured, leaving twenty-seven cases in . quarantine la nineteen premises. Nine cases of diphtheria diph-theria were carried over from last week, four cases were discharged and no new cases having developed, left five warning signs on as many premises, quarantining' five cases. Eighteen new cases of smallpox developed de-veloped during the week and one case was Imported from . Leadville, Colo. This latter case, which is the only one of the total number ever successfully vaccinated, shows a poor scar of vaccination, vacci-nation, performed in childhood. One case resulted fatally and fifteen cases, recovered, leaving sixty-five cases in detention. Typhoid fever, measles and chickenpox register one case each.
