Show THAW TRIAL MAY BE POSTPONED Counsel for Defense Objects to Jury Application, and Case Is Sent to Supreme Court NEW YORK, Nov. 22, Developments Develop-ments in court yesterday make it almost al-most certain that Harry K. Thaw will not be tried for the shooting of Stanford Stan-ford White on December 3, the day recently re-cently fixed. . On motion of District Attorney Jerome Je-rome yesterday, the case was sent to the Supreme' court by-Justice Green-baum, Green-baum, who is sitting in the criminal branch. 'It had been originally planned to try Thaw before Recorder Goff in general sessions. The change of programme came as the result of opposition of Clifford W. , Hartridge, of counsel for the defense, to the District Attorney's application for a special panel of 150 talesmen from, which to select the jury. x When Mr. Jerome heard of. the proceedings pro-ceedings he withdrew his motion for a special panel and applied for the transfer trans-fer of the case to the Supreme court. It is thought now that the trial will not be reached before January 1 or ' later. |
