Chadwick. which the latter had indorsed to the bank. The consideration con-sideration agreed upon waa 940.100. Counael went into court and stated that an agreement agree-ment had been reached. The defense had aet up that the note was procured by false representations on the part of Mrs. Chsdwirk. and that, as it had been accepted by the bank after ita maturity, the defendant was. not liable. As a part of ita case the defense took a deposition from Andrew Carnegie aa to whether or not the statements msde by Mrs.' Cbadwick aa to her relations to him were true. Thia deposition is in, the hands of Newton's counsel, who I aaya that they will give no mora publicity I to the case than is necessary. j |
