At a meeting of the State Board of Examiners '- yesterday the members ot the board refused to pay' the bill for Deputy Sheriff .Joseph C. Sharp for ar-restingJim ar-restingJim Donaldson at Hot Springs, Ark. The board contended that the expense ex-pense bill,' which amounted to $246.70, was illegal, inasmuch as Sharp was not the agent of the State named in the requisition papers issued by Gov. Cut-lar. Cut-lar. ;- Sheriff , Eenr .. wa named - in --tbe requisition as the agent of the State, but as 'DonaHdson , agreed . to return without- requisition, Emery did not etart with the papers. Sheriff Emery met the party t Provo. This expense the board declares is the only one that jt can lawfully pay.- J. .j v . The Sheriff will evidently attempt to get the money from the County Commissioners, Com-missioners, as le- declares that -be paid the .same out of his own pocket. - Deputy. When. Donaldson was arrested he had $1125 in his possession. Of this amount he declared $480 belonged . to the woman.
