Show MAY ANNOUNCE HIDING PLACE Ex-Secretary of Cuba Be- lieved to Know Where Silveira Is ; Holds Conference Confer-ence With Ceballos. XEW YORK, Oct. 16. A conference which may lead to the announcement in a short time of the whereabouts of Manuel Silveira waa held yesterday between Juan O'Farrill, ex-Secretary ex-Secretary of Stae of Cuba, and Juan M. Ceballos, Ce-ballos, . at fhe latter's office, 27 William street. Senor O'Farrill was special counsel for Silveira in some recent litigation, and arrived ar-rived in this city last Tuesday from Havana. Ha-vana. While the Cuban lawyer could not, without laying himself open to the charge of unprofessional unpro-fessional conduct, divulge what he knows about the hiding place oi Silveira, or the condition con-dition of his affair, it was said that if anybody any-body in this country had knowledge of them, it was Senor O'Farrill. There was not even the certainty that, pot- -sensing this information, he imparted it even to Mr. Ceballos, but there was a strong impression im-pression that the conference held between ' the two men yesterday had to do with Silveira, Sil-veira, and possibly with producing him in this city. . As to the whereabouts of the steamer Cr-melia, Cr-melia, which carried from Havana the man whose alleged embezilement of 91,000,000 was given as the cause of the Ceballos failure, fail-ure, there was no news to solve, the thirteen-day thirteen-day mystery. |
