Promptly at o'clock this morning the bugle an-nounced an-nounced -the- formal opening of .-the twenty-second annual event of the National Na-tional Horse Show association at Mad- ; ion Square Garden. . ' The ahow of horses this year will ia some respects be the greatest equine only, but this week the pubuo will have a chance to see many new ones in the championship classes, in- all of which numerous ' earnest competitions are assured. Horsemen who have been interested in the national horse show for many years were of the opinion - yesterday that Urge numbers and better quality would be shown this week than in any in the last dozen years. As usual there is the keenest interest in the "dress parade." whieh is considered one of the chief feature of the show. Francis Murphy, the orator at the preliminary luncheon inspection at Madison Square Garden, voiced this interest in-terest when he said in describing the horse show that it was "a sprinkling of aristocrats, a quantity of good clothing cloth-ing and some horses." Society haa come to town and prepared pre-pared for the show and visits will see many stunning gowns before the week is over. |
