Show NEW RAILROAD NOW ASSURED Two Distinct Lines Connecting Connect-ing Tonopah and Ely Have Been Surveyed; to Connect With Salt LaKe. The proposed railroad from Tonopah to Ely is rapidly approaching what may be considered a certainty. Two distinct lines have been surveyed. The surveying survey-ing party has announced to the ranchers ranch-ers with whom associations have been had while the . work was proceeding, that this new road will make -connections at Ely with a road from Salt Lake which will traverse the Deep Creek country. Ths Information confirms the statements state-ments which have been from time to time made in the news columns of THE TELEGRAM that the day is not far distant when there will be a direct road extending from Salt Lake to Ely (250 miles), thence to Tonopah (185 miles), thence to Coldfield (twenty-five miles), and from Goldfield to the Greenwater district (160 miles), and from the Greenwater district to Rhyolite. . Two' direct lines are already under construction between Goldfield and the Bullfrog district. Another has been projected from Rhvolite in a northeasterly northeast-erly direction, direct to Ely, which will open an entirely virgin and rich mining section. -. John W. Brock and associates, representing repre-senting Philadelphia capitalists, including includ-ing Charles M. Schwab and associates, who have built the Tonopah & Goldfield railroad, are behind the projected line between Tonopah and Ely. |
