District Attorney Jerome's candidacy for Governor was practically withdrawn with-drawn today at an adjourned meeting of the so-called -Al bany conference of anti-Hearst Democrats. At the meeting which was attended by representatives from about twenty-five counties, it was decided that the delegates opposed; to the nomination of "William : Randolph Hearst should , : concentrate on either Judge Gaynor or Mayor Adams, as expediency may require. position to put over the serious work of the convention until tomorrow, when ' it is planned to adopt the platform and. name the candidates. Five Candidates Out. Three of the five leading candidates', for Governor, W. E. uearst, W. T.J Jerome and William Sulzer, are from New York county; a fourth, Justice W. J. Gavnor. is from Kings county, and, the fifth, J.N. Adam, is the Mayor of. this city. Others are talked of in thm- event of a deadlock, which is regarded' as not improbable.- BUFFALO. N. Y., Sept. 25.
