What the Board of Education will do with a woman in the thirty-fifth enumerating enu-merating district, for refusing to tell the names and ages of her children, will be a question to be settled by the next meeting of the board, and it is probable that legal action may be taken tak-en against her. This is the first difficulty diffi-culty that baa been struck by the census cen-sus enumerators this year. Yesterday Edith V. Budd called at the home of the woman and asked bow manv children fine had. "None of your business," asserted be angry woman. . . "But I will have to know,'! the enumerator enu-merator is reported to have explained, v Tt is said that the woman badly abused the information-searcher, ana is said to have ordered her away from the. house. On aeeount of the circumstances circum-stances the board this morning refused re-fused to give out the name of the alleged al-leged offender. -The matter has been reported to many, of the members and some action will be taken in the ease at the next meeting of the board. |
