Show D. O. G. TO BUILD WOODLAWN CUT-OFf Word comes from Denver that the Denver & Rio Grande has decided to build a cut-oft from Palmer Lake to Woodland, a distance of sixteen miles, to connect with the Colorado Midland and thereby shorten the distance to Salt 'Lake fiy 112 miles. - This is due to the compe-Itlon compe-Itlon of the Denver, Northwestern & Pacific or Moffat line, which the road expects ex-pects to be very keen. The cut-off will shorten the time of passenger trains by about four hours, and a great deal more on freight trains. When the new cut-off is completed, the Rio Grande will run through trains to Woodland from Denver, thence over the Colorado Midland to Buena Vista, a distance dis-tance of 128 miles. . The present route Is by way of Colorado Springs and Pueblo. The new road probably will be completed bv January 1. 1907. |
