Show Chicago Produce. CHICAGO. April 4. The local wheat market was firm today because of steady cablea and higher prices yesterday in outside markets, there being no session because of election day. The trading, however, was only moderate In volume, with shorts the best buyers. May wheat opened ifjfcc to MSftc higher at 7779 78c and sold up to 78ftc. Minneapolis, Duluth and Chicago reported re-ported receipts of 277 cars, against 168 a year sgo. Trading in corn, was small, but prices Were. firm. May opened ftftc up at 44ft 44c and sold up to 44ft(&44e; The oate market was steady. May opened ftc up at 31c, declined to 30ft 31c and advanced to 31331ftc. Provisions were weak, chiefly because of liberal profit-taking in pork and a 6c decline in the price of live hogs. May pork opened. 6o lower at $16. 27ft and declined de-clined to $16.12ft. Lard was unchanged at $8.42ft and ribs were down 2ftc at $8.65. |
