Show ELBERT HUBBARD LIKES SALT LAKE Elbert Hubbard. "Fra Elbertus," whom Socrates quite successfully plagiarised pla-giarised some 2500 years ago, will lecture lec-ture at Assembly hall tonight on "The Gospel of Work," the text being a fair outline of what will be said. Fra Elbertus El-bertus has delivered nineteen lectures on this Western trip;, he has been at Portland, and when he leaves this city tomorrow he will go to Boise, thence back to Denver and East Aurora, where the Roycrofters live and make things. Mr. Hubbard says there are now fully 500 members of his colony and everything every-thing that Is used by man is manufactured manufac-tured by the colony. Speaking of Salt Lake he said he was charmed with the progress made since his last visit here two years ago. "In my absence Salt Lake has certainly cer-tainly done things: the city has made marked progress; there are many new and fine houses of splendid type of architecture to please the eye and induce in-duce increased population. Salt Lake Is a most agreeable surprise to me In the matter of growth." |
