During: a performance by Miss Olga Nether- sole at the Harlem opera-house last night an electric fuse burned out In the upper gallery. Firemen playing hand grenades on the blaze nearly caused a panic as well as a fight among several persons who it) were drenched. Some one In the dress circle, hearing the shouts, cried "Fire!" and a panic was narrowly averted. The spectators all over the house stood up and many started to leave the theater. Miss Nethersole rushed to the front of the stage and appealed to the audience, which, after some moments, was reassured. The performance was then re- sumed, 1 . |
