Show SEVERAL RUMORS AS TO DEAL FOR OHIO ' Several rumors are afloat regarding the proposed purchase of the Ohio Copper Cop-per company's property at Bingham by the Guggenhelms. One story is that the deal will be closed up within the next few weeks, while another is that the deal has collapsed.' Manager Henry Catrow of the Ohio declined to discuss the rumors, declaring that nothing definite defi-nite has been decided. The option on the property has not as yet run out. and will not for some time. It Is claimed that the prospective prospect-ive purchasers want a lower price. It Is a sure thing that the Ohio people will refuse to consider a lower price, and they may even refuse the price of $1,000,000 which Is mentioned in the present deal. A man who is thoroughly familiar with the conditions at the property announced an-nounced as, his firm belief Monday that the mine Is the cheapest property in the State at $1,000,000. Superintendent Zlegler has Insisted on sinking on the veins as well as drifting to their limit on the strike, - and the results nave shown hi wisdom. The copper values' have steadily increased with depth and in the bottom of the wlnse there is ore running as high as 60 per cent -in the red metal. " - There is also a large amount of native, na-tive, copper scattered through the ore at the greater depth and the Jig concentrates concen-trates , which are shipped occasionally are full of the native stuff. When some of this ore is .run. through the. high speed rolls it comes out in- a sheet. The high peed rolls which have been installed by Superintendent Ziegler are rather an innovation, as they do the work of a Chilian mill and can handle almost twice as much ore as the Chilian mill. The mill is now running with the utmost smoothness, and is handling about a car of concentrates a day. This Indicates that about 300 tons of ore a day are being milled, as the proportion of concentration is about six into one. . |
