Show PELTIER HAS NOT TALKED HIS WAY OUT i J. C. Peltier, who talked his way into the county jail, had been unable to talk his way out up to a late hour this afternoon. after-noon. Peltier stated last night he would be able to give the necessary $1500 bonds today, but apparently "there is nothing doine" in this line. He is under un-der indictifient by the Ogden grand Jury for impersonating a postotfice inspector. Peltier is accused of defrauding L. A. Doles out of $20, Chief of Fire Department Depart-ment William Bywater of $40, and also Senator Reed Smoot out of money, and even clothing. The list is said to be much greater, but the many said to have been "stung" have not come forward for-ward announcing the fact, not desiring to publish their gullibility. Peltier will be tried before the Federal Fed-eral court on April 21. Peltier is alleged al-leged to have "worked" many residents of Provo with his smooth talk. He refused re-fused to discuss his case "under advice of counsel," and It !s also a "secret" who his counsel is. |
