Sullivan discovered this Interesting fact: the other night when he went to Jefferson City, Mo., to deliver his far-famed far-famed lecture on J. L. Sullivan, Hon-. Hon-. est John, Boston. Deeming the Missourlans easy John declared a $2 assessment on each ticket, but the Missouri public allowed the tickets to become delinquent, only two being sold, thereby .bringing nto the treasury the magnificent sum of $4. John, In haughty disdain refused to tell about himself to the public, but made an earnest plea to Thomas E. Kirmey of St. Louis who again placed John on the Bread Wagon by a small donation and a railroad ticket. Further than this report sayeth not. |
