Show SHOOTING CASE INVOLVING AMERICANS AGAIN MENTIONED INHOUSE OF COMMONS; FEAR EXPRESSED THEY MAY RUN AWAY LONDON, July 26. The shooting case-Involving J. S. and H. C. Phlpps, sons of Henry Phlpps of Pittsburg, Pa., was again mentioned In the House of Commons this afternoon, J. Gallow-Weir, Gallow-Weir, representing .Ross and Cromanty county. Scotland, wanting the Lord Advocate for Scotland to take steps to prevent the defendants from fleeing from justice. ' The Lord Advocate, however, said he had every reason to believe that the Phlpps would be ready to meet any charges brought against them. One of the young' men, lve understood, was now In Paris. The two sons of Mr. Phlpps were recently re-cently charged at Inverness with the reckless discharge of firearms on the Beaufort estate in the highlands of Scotland, leased by Mr. Phlpps from Lord Lovett, by which the young men wounded three persons. On July 22 they were committed for trial and were released on $2000 ball each. Mr. Galloway-Weir called the attention of the House of Commons to the case July 2. when he asked the Lord Advocate of Scotland whether the defendants were still In the United Kingdom. |
