Show HOT TIGHT OVER THE "PIN" ROAD Election of Officers at Weiser Is Stopped by Court Injunction. (Special to The Telegram.) WEISER. Ida.. Nov. 22. On complaint com-plaint of Lewis C. Van Riper of New York, the District coart yesterday granted an Injunction restraining the officials and board of directors of the Pacific & Idaho Northern railroad from holding the annual election of officers and board of directors and from voting any of the stock. Mr. Van Riper alleges al-leges that by the terms' of his agreement agree-ment with the company he was to pay its debts and the cost of a thirty-mile extension,- in return for which he was to be given 56 per cent of the capital stock, which was to be placed in care of the Guarantee Trust company of New York, and that he was to be .allowed .al-lowed to vote this stock at elections of the company. Mr. Van Riper charges that the stock was placed on deposit, but was afterward after-ward withdrawn and given to some person unknown to him. He declares that the election scheduled for yesterday yester-day in this city was for the purpose of electing Frank R. Cordley of New York president, and that this move would be detrimental to the interests of the company. com-pany. Mr. Van Riper came to Weiser from New York in such a hurry In order or-der to stop the election that he did not bring even a grip with him. The controversy is looked upon here as a fight between the Northern Pacific Pa-cific and Oregon Short Line for possession posses-sion of the road. Van Riper is known to be connected with President Hill in many enterprises, while the other officials offi-cials are from the Short Line. |
