Show PALMER-TATE COMPANY SECURES THE CONTRACT. Bids on the extension of Improvement on Brigham street were opened Saturday by the Board of Public Works. The bid of the Palmer-Tate company of Salt Lake City, specifying Utah asphalt, was accepted. ac-cepted. The offer of the company to do the work between Seventh Kast and Tenth Kast street is for 44,755. The bids presented were: Barber Asphalt Paving company, Denver. Den-ver. I'tah native bitumen. $48,435; Palmer-Tate Palmer-Tate company. Salt Lake Citv. Obispo asphalt. 47.X6: P. J. Moran. Salt Lake City. California residual pitch. J46.47T; Palmer-Tate company. Salt Lake City, Utah rock asphalt, S44.755. The decision to use the Utah product for the streets was only determined after a long discussion by the board. It is believed be-lieved that by letting the work to the Palmer-Tate company, the city will get the work done more cheaply than If It had been let to F J. Moran, as at first ordered. |
