Show WOOLLY NEW YORKERS' SHOOT UP A TOWN : ' ! JOHNSTOWN. N. T., April 24. A band of young Adirondack mountaineers came down upon the town of Sangerfield and "shot up" the place In a fashion fit for a Wild West show. ' They let horses and cows out of stables, with cant-hooks they tore etore steps away and wrenched heavy shutters from windows, broke In the doors of public buildings and ripped up many rods , of fence. The lawless ' band tore up henhouses hen-houses and carried away the fowl, only to strew feathers and dead birds along the road. At the milk station they emptied emp-tied many cans of milk ready for shipment ship-ment After they had destroyed all the property they pleased the rowdies shot up the town and departed for the mountains. The town has no marshal with notches In his gun. so the outlaw got away without with-out detection.- |
