Show SIXTEEN MEN ARE ORDERED TO DEPART PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 20 Sixteen men were placo in a patrol wagon and a sightseeing buss at police headquarters head-quarters fie re today and started for the city limits, where police had announced an-nounced the men would bp ordered to leave Portland because of their alleged connection with the Industrial Woik-ers Woik-ers of the World in the longshoremen' strike here. I This was the heralded exodus of the j men roundel up by the polite Wednesday Wednes-day night and estrday. Of the more 1 than 1M0 taken into custody, us were discharged by Municipal Judge W. A. i Kkwall. A doz n foreigners were held for investigation by immigration officials offi-cials and the remainder were either turned loose by the police or had not been arraigned. Word wa received here last night that itinerants, at Settle had been ordered or-dered to Portland to help flood the ; Jail. Thus far. however, no such in-j in-j flux has mde itseif felt. |
