Show HEALTH NEWS For the week ending July 6, a total of 280 cases of communicable commu-nicable diseases was reported by health officers to the Utah State Department of Health as compared com-pared with 483 cases for the previous pre-vious week. The number of cases cas-es of chickenpox, measles, mumps and scarlet fever showed a decided de-cided decline over the previous week. No cases of poliomyelitis, tu- j laremia, nor typhoid fever were reported for the week. Four cases of undulant fever were reported 2 of these were from Salt Lake City, one from Cache county, and one was listed as a nonresident. The attending physicians reported that all four patients were in the habit of drinking "unpasteurized milk". Salt Lake City reported a case of pulmonary tuberculosis. A case of trachoma was reported re-ported from San Juan county. Six cases of acute rheumatic . fever were reported. A case of diphtheria was reported re-ported from one of the army hospitals. hos-pitals. The patient was an adult, nonresident, and died from the disease. The totals for the week were as follows: chickenpox, 39; diphtheria, diph-theria, 1; measles, 78; German measles, 7; mumps, 45; scarlet fever, 7; tuberculosis, 1; undulant fever, 4; whooping cough, 23; gonorrhea (resident) 21; gnorrhea (nonresident), 16; syphilis (resident), (resi-dent), 9; syphilis (nonresident), 14; trachoma, 1; and malaria fever fe-ver (nonresident), 5.
