N Byhower superintendent of parks on closing dosing his work for the season eason rendered his report of the work I Idone done to Commissioner of Parks Keyser a synopsis of which wa was published in the daily papers But THE TELEGRAM I believes that tha a more detailed account would be welcomed by the people generally and so has prepared those details and presents them themas as s follows follos s l The 1 improvements in Liberty park have been S 1 The enlargement of the lake 2 An addition of sixteen acres to the lawn 3 A general sanitary cleaning U up of the gro grounds east and north of of- the outside drive 4 Enlarged the greenhouse 5 Started the zoo and purchased a large number of animals 6 Established and equipped two new playgrounds 7 Constructed a new swimming pool for girls 8 Improved the roa roads s built two tw bridges over the lake and andone andone andone one over the Tenth South canal t In P Pioneer on er park th the new improvements were ll ti Restored the lawns and reconstructed the walks J 2 Added girls girls' swimming pool and enlarged the boys' boys su supplied d new apparatus I 3 Provided d for band concerts every Sunday during the summer At Riverside Riverside Bought Bought twenty-one twenty acres in a district that will soon be thickly settled Th This s park is located on the river where every city that has hasa a river tries to estai establish lish its parks parIes In this case the park will when I I improved be a delight to the people The present improvements consist of the laying out of the main drive on the east side and the planting of trees 1 t On City Creek Creek Commissioner Commissioner Keyser induced Mr l Moran to remove his asphaltum plant and grade the city land he was on so that a fine park and playground can be established there 2 Two parks were established at the entrance and work commenced on another further up the c canyon nyon 3 The boulevard was completed from the entrance of City Creek to the intersection with Eleventh avenue which is now being being being be be- ing graded 4 Under instructions the city engineer is now working on plans for a boulevard to run west along the shore line past Ensign peak to the Davis county line Pl Playgrounds Under Playgrounds Under Mr Keysers Keyser's directions fine school grounds in different parts of the city have been equipped In all this work the board of education has greatly assisted the city S Pu Public lic lands lands Abstracts Abstracts have been made of all the lands of th the city and surveys of them are now being made 1 Mr rr Keyser has directed all this work and in full accord with the working superintendent has daily dally watched its development We Ve are sure the people will approve what has been done and will want it continued in the same able hands I |
