Show nO n Utah Boxing Law Takes Ef Effect f 60 60 Days Af After ter Legislature Adjourns For the first time in history boxing in Utah will soon be governed gov gov- by a law which not only legalizes the sport but also acts as a check for fixed bouts and poorly conditioned fighters Governor George H H. H Cern Dern yesterday signed the Jorgensen bill The bill provides for bouts up to ten rounds with three minutes minutes- of boxing and one minute of rest between rounds suspension of six six months for any promoter or contestant participating in fixed bouts and permanent suspension for a second offense examination of all all' contestants prior to entering the ring by a competent physician and that any person or incorporated club may promote contests upon the prepayment of an annual or license current current to be fixed by the board of com commissioners of cities towns or counties where said boxing contests are held The bill which also repeals all previous statutes prohibiting boxing boxing box box- ing in Utah will become a law sixty days after aftel the legislature adjourns ad- ad jour s. s J |
