Friday even-ing, Miss Dona Blanche Reid be-- i une the bride of Donald Henry Davis, son of John Henry Davis of Midvale. The new Mrs. Davis is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs Donald (,. Reid. Bishop Reed H. Beckstead of Midvale officiated at the ceremony, following which a reception honored the newly-wed- s. Given in marriage by her fa-ther to the strains of the Wed-ding March and 'Always", the bride was lovely in a short white Vogue model with navy access ones enhanced by a corsage of gardenia! and American Beauty roses. Attendants were Miss Heva Thome In gold crepe as maid of honor; Mrj. Lorin Jenkins in Idue crepe was matron of honoi and Miss Dortha Jean Reid In "earl grey was bridesmaid. Each wore a corsage of gardenias and pink roses Jack Smickel of Midvale was best man. For the wedding the bride's mother wore n gown of aqua crepe and Mrs. Robert Davis, aunt of the bride groom, chose a eown of blush ' pink. Each wore a corsage of link carnations. Pouring at the serving table, covered with a poinsetta croch-- 1 eted (doth set with crystal, cen-tered with, a wedding cake and pink and white cathedral tapers were Misses Joyce Hansen, Beth Cowdell, Jeanne Willis and Bon-nie Jean Johnson. Serving were Misses Ruth Barnett, Rac B tr nett. Kathryn King. Jenna Vee Olsen, Maunne Buckle and Lois Peterson, Receiving gifts were Misses Shirley Reed, Lorraine Tobiason and Helen Jeffcoti Miss Lenna Jean Jensen bad charge of the bride's book. All were attired in beautiful pastel formal and were or are members oi the Mineretto club of Bingham hij;h school of which Miss Reid, prior to her graduation las! May, was a member. The new Mrs. Davis has been attending USAC at Logan w.iere she was active in the spe 'di de partment and a member of the di bate club She also took part in one-a- ct plays and competed in the finals lor the Centennial iilav. She is a pledge of Lamba Delta Sigma and a member of the W A. A Mr. Davis is a former navy veteran of nearly four years, three of which were spent a tin. ud the LaSalle. He is authori-zed to wear ten battle stars and live campaign ribbons. He re-ceived his specialized training at Kansas university. HEALTH NEWS i Physicians nad local health of-ficers reported a total of 374 re-sident cases of communicable dis-eases to the state department of health for the week ending April 11. 1047. Last week there twere 588 cases reported and !)56 for the same period last year. There was a drop of over 200 cases this week as compared with the report for the previous week, which resulted mainly from a marked decrease of the number of cases of influenza and mumps. There were two pulmonary tu-berculosis cases reported during the week one case lrom San-pete county and the other from Utah county Health officers from Cache, Duchesne, Emery, Grand, Juab, Piute and Sevier counties re-ported that there were no com-municable diseases during the past week in their areas of jur-isdiction.
