Show High School Orators Of Utah Get Chance In Contests This Y Year ear Competitions in Districts Will Be Held Before April 29 Final Winners s to to Get Trip to Europe High school orators of Utah boys and girl will this year have an opportunity to compete in the district zone national and international oratorical contests which during the past four years have come to be recognized as the paramount tests of high school oratorical ability AS part or of the Southwest zone comprising fifty five districts Utah has officially entered the lists and in the seven districts in Utah Including every high school In the state both state and nd church Institutions institutions local competitions will be held prior to April 29 on which date at some ce central point in the district the winners will compete for the district championship These winners winners win win- ners will gather In Salt Lake on May 6 and compete for the honor honorof of representing Utah at Los Angeles May 13 in the zone contest The wInner of first place In the zone contest will so go to as ZOne representative to compete with winners from all over the country Inthe in inthe the national oratorical contest on ray May 27 21 In turn next October 14 14 the national winner will compete against representatives of six foreign for for- eign countries at Washington for forthe the title of champion high school scho l j orator tor of the world MAKE FIRST MOVE The first move toward Utah was made Saturday at luncheon at the Hotel Utah attended attend attend- ed by nine representatives of schools of the state and the press The luncheon was given by the Los Angeles Times sponsor for the Southwest Pacific zone John R.
