J p r they expect everything ng to be done for them t tj J But the bigg biggest st beef I have with them is 1 4 Y the way a lot of them treat their caddies caddies- i 7 V like slaves A caddy is just a kid and N bound to make mistakes but a real sport III should realize this and make allowances o something a lot of the pros didn't do here Tom McHugh Now of course there are a number of real gentlemen in that bunch of traveling pros but there are also a lo lot of guys who do golf little good Now that is off my chest let us get on Lloyd Mangrum might be able to thank a spectator for finishing in a tie for first His ball hit a fan on No 2 and Mangrum got a birdie on the hole At that point he looked like he was going to tomake make a runaway of the final 18 for he was two under nar par after th the two holes Did you notice that four started and three finished Ernie Jr slipped a little on the second 18 and didn't make malte it but you youcan youcan youcan can bet your shirt that this youngster will be heard from in the future George Ernie and Earl the three golfing brothers all played good golf all the way through Everything about the Fort course was excellent during the tournament tournament tournament tour tour- but I think that that No 1 hole is a very poor getaway for championship golf It should be a long par four or par five hole A blind hole is is bad enough anywhere around a championship course but to open with a blind hole is extra bad About the only casualty of of- the tournament happened to a Jaycee ticket seller N. N B. B Topping put the bite on a non ticket wearer and the gate crasher told him what he could do with the ticket Topping told him he would have to leave then turned around to watch a shot Just about that time the unwelcome guest copped a sneak on Topping and the thc blow broke Toppings Topping's glasses and cut cut his face Toppings Topping's s pals the marshals came to the rescue called the cops and the gate crasher was taken to the pokey Who's Vho's going to win that playoff Mangrum is at least a two- two to-one to shot In fact if you like Fazio to win you should get a couple of strokes edge |
