Show THE REAL DOPE By fly flyThe BILL COLTRIN The old Real Dope has covered many au an opening of fishing fishing fishing fish fish- ing season but never one like last Saturday at Fish Lake Fishing was incredibly good and the usual windstorm which drives the anglers from the lake most openings failed to develop So even the minority of the fishermen who didn't have limits by mid midmorning morning had the rest of the day left to fill fillup ill up and up-and and they did Friday night we wc heard lots of oC wild tales told about how certain guys could call their shots on the lake tell lake tell where and when they would get their fish Saturday morning we saw the stories proved Up until 1030 am a.m. we didn't even get gel out on the lake confining our fishing to fishing for stories ip p and down the shore But finally we succumbed to the arguments of oC Henry and Jack Cla Clay and went out for a quick 45 minutes Plenty Wise The boys had been telling us FrIda Friday night that Henry was as plenty wise in the wa ways s 's of oC trout at Fish Lake and you youcan youcan youcan can be sure that he is Apparently he doesn't care too much what kind of lure you use as long as the boat is run in the proper place I 1 He was using a dark flatfish Jack had on a green flatfish and we e were towing a pop gear And Henry kept his mouth shut most of the time but when he advised that an any minute now would produce a strike he never missed It was just that simple And Henry and a few of the theother theother theother other timers old-timers around Fish Lake insist that they can get fish an any day during the season Now for some quick notes about some of the folks we saw down there Bob Bullock state fish and game commissioner sorta got left out of oC the deal He found he didn't have a place to sleep Frida Friday night so he had to go back to Loa for a bunk Talked to Dr John Cluff and his wife and his brother Blaine Blame duff Cluff of Richfield They were fishing from the bank and really getting a nice mess of brooks When we talked to them about 8 am a.m. they had about two two thirds thirds of a limit apiece and were having the time of their lives Save Some for Later Got a kick out of two more Richfield anglers Alvin Ward rd and J J. Marvin Thompson Thompson they they quit at 6 am a.m. so that they could get in n some more fishing in n the evening We Ve were amazed when year old Kent Hansen of Salt Lake City fishing from the end of oC a dock The little feller was using a casting outfit and using it like a veteran Not only did he look good in flipping that line out but he had good results results including including a two It lit was a great couple of days down there Obviously Ob the trick of planting fish under the ice in the spring which has been used the last couple of years is a good one And the fish and nd game department must be congratulated they congratulated they really loaded the old pond It was as wonderful |
