Show I JUST FOLKS By EDGAR GUEST FATHERS FATHER'S WATCH My fathers father's watch was one he wound Each evening with a key silver-cased silver but pride profound In all its works had he Hed He'd vow never fast nor slow But week by week would run And just as truly time would show As moon and stars starz and sun Of little was my father vain He always simply dressed But I have heard him time again Insist his watch the best No watch hed he'd say to those he knew Of at silver case or gold With many jewels or a few Cew The hour so truly told I wonder where that watch has gone Ive I've searched it high and low Of all the family there is none Today who seems to know No timepiece such as dad possessed Has fallen to his son Their years of service done Copyright 1948 Edg Edgar r A.
