Show MINERS DEFEAT MILLARD 26-6 by Al Ablett Bingham takes Millard 26 to 6 in a ball game that had every-I every-I thing. Bingham scored from a-S a-S way out and Millard got their j score from a sustained drive. Our I first score came after a poor kick by Millard; Knudsen had kicked over the goal line and the ball was brought out to the twenty-On twenty-On three plays the southern boys lost a net of 4 yards and then kicked. The ball was down on their own 38 yard line. Boren made 9 yards on first play then Knudsen lost five when he hurt his leg. Boren then went to the 9 yard line and Knudsen took it over on next play, around left end. His kick was no good. Bing-ham Bing-ham (i, Millard 0. The quarter; elided shortly after the kick off! with Millard unable to gain. At the opening of the second j quarter they were forced to kick. The kick was good for about 35 yards but Boren nullified it by running it back 25, on this run Pullan, Bingham's center, thru a block on a Millard player that you didn't have to see, you could hear it. On the next play Boren found a hole at left tackle and broke through, avoiding the secondary sec-ondary by some clever broken field running he went 52 yards for the Miners second score. He ran the ball for the extra point, Bingham 13, Millard 0. Alter the kick off it looked like the boys from down yonder were off, they made 3 first downs in a row. Peterson, Bingham's good tackle, was hurt and they made the most of it. At this point he went back into the game and the hole was closed and the Miners took over. After Bingham failed to gain, Knudsen kicked and Millard fumbled. The Miners recovered re-covered on Millard's 44 yard line. Boren made 10 but his team was off side. Knudsen then went 15 for a first down. Boren then went around his own right end clear to the promised land. Knudsen's kick was wide. Bingham 19, Millard 0. On the first play after the kick on wuiiara elected to pass, big Jack Knudsen gathered in the ball on a neat interception and before the people got set down from the previous score, Bingham had another one because be-cause Jack went all the way. The half ended that way. j The second half found both teams playing between the thirty yard lines, until late in the fourth quarter when on a series of pass- j es and penalties Millard scored their lone touchdown with two minutes remaining to play. On this series of plays Bingham had two 15 yard penalties and pne pass interference. A 17-yard pass put the ball on Bingham's 9 yard line. Next play was good for 5. They failed to gain on next play, then scored on the next one. The kick was wide. Bingham 26, Millard Mil-lard 6.
