L Dow patrol superintendent With drunk driving leading in percentage increase a total of 13 arrest and warning tickets were Iss issued ed to offending motorists compared with only for the same period in 1945 19 Highway deaths for forthe the first six months of 1946 totaled 89 compared compared compared com com- pared with 57 for lor the same period in 1945 The only moving violation category category category cate cate- gory which showed a a decrease from that of last year was speed speed- ing Supt Dow explained that this decrease was attributed to the mile 35 per hour speed limit in effect during the first half of 1945 The speed limit has since been raised to 60 miles mUes per hour Noting that the increase In warning tickets indicated improved enforcement Supt Dow complimented complimented highway patrol officers for their their diligence in apprehending traffic law offenders |
