This practice unnecessarily hampers firemen in obtaining necessary information. Local firemen with their fine equipment are capable cap-able of meeting any problems that might arise from a fire alarm. The general public has no right to tie up vital telephone lines during an alarm. Residents should realize that lives and property losses are at stake when a fire strikes our community. If they will abide by the following rules, greater efficiency effic-iency in controlling a most destructive enemy can be given by Bingham firemen: (1) Don't use telephones in obtaining location of fires; (2) Don't rush to the scene of a fire. This procedure pro-cedure increases traffic which causes delay of firemen and equipment; (3) If you happen to be at the scene of a blaze, don't stand around in the way of firemen; (4) Give fire trucks the right-of-way; (5) Don't climb on fire trucks. Firemen are covered cover-ed by industrial compensation. If they get hurt they are compensated for injuries. Other riders aren't. (6) Do not drive your car over fire hose stretched across the street unless it is covered with a guard; (7) Don't hesitate to turn in fire alarms. Delay might prove costly.
